Electoral College Changes to Come in California?
I read a insider tip today that legislation will soon be introduced in the California legislature to divide the Electoral College votes (55 in CA) by congressional district--not winner takes all.
I came up with this idea before the election!! I'm not writing this to boast, but purely because I am totally excited and amazed that my theory may come to fruition. Granted, it is a Republican bill...and this is a Democratically controlled state...but perhaps the Dems will see the value in doing such a thing.
If this passes, more people in Northern California will vote, because they will realize that their vote TRULY does make a difference. If you look at this map, you'll see just how much of California votes Republican...yet, because of LA and SF, our votes don't count, basically.
What great legislation!! Here's an article I just found about it, as well.
Every American deserves to have their voice heard by their vote--and this will only help Californians to realize that their vote matters.
