It's getting closer!
Wow--time is flying by! It seemed like this weekend would never come, and it is almost here! I am so looking forward to my date this weekend, and for a LONG weekend...and for the time just chilling with my amazing friends. God is so good, ya know? He has so richly blessed me! But, in order to fully enjoy this weekend I must get things done NOW! :)
I think more than anything I cannot stand stupid people. And they are everywhere! They appear out of nowhere, sometimes. One prime example from the academic world was in my Current Events class on Monday...we were discussing terrorism and the effects thereof. We watched a video about the evidence that was found after the first World Trade Center attacks...much was found, though extremely vague and non-descript, within the al Qaeda circles within the U.S. And a girl in the class had the audacity to criticize President Bush for not using that information, for not stopping 9-11...
And I was thinking two things: First, Clinton was the President when that evidence was found, so really she should be criticizing him, not Bush (but she is a democrat and has a tendency to jump on Bush whenever she can); Second, they did what they could with the information they had, which, as I noted before, was NOT at all descriptive. Of course, in retrospect, it is clear. But there were no names, no exact plans, nothing to point towards such a catastrophic event. It is far too easy for us to say that they should have stopped the tragic, horrid events of that September day, but really, with nothing to go off of, how could we place these expectations upon them? Anyway, it was just annoying because she, like a few others in the class, tend to make statements without qualifying them, nor do they think through their responses before they speak. (Not that I am exempt from making stupid statements by any means--I just have become more aware, through ASP and D.C., that it is vitally important to think before you speak, and to ensure that you know the facts.)
But anyway, the good ole Santa Ana Winds have been blowing again, and they are not fun...welcome to allergy season! Also, they bring the lovely aroma of cow to our valley, which is not the most appetizing smell! But, I cannot complain because the sun is shining, the smog is gone, and it was probably 70 today.
Ah, I must get to the homework that awaits me. Thanks for reading!
