"According to John"

I was glancing through some old documents on my computer, and I found a document that contained lyrics from the band "According to John." I had forgotten about their awesome lyrics, and I had forgotten how right on they always are with what is going on in life! So I have decided to post some of their songs here, so that you can all enjoy them...

Heaven Forbid
Lyric by Scott Johnson / Music by John Waller

Heaven forbid
That I refuse the pain and miss the grace that you have for me in this place...
Heaven forbid
That my life be lived for passing things and lives I touch remain the same...
Heaven forbid that I miss the truth
Heaven forbid that I waste my youth
Do not permit the enemy to have the victory over me
Heaven forbid

Heaven forbid
That I be a study of showmanship and not become your workmanship...
Heaven forbid that I carelessly sow convenient seeds and convince myself you’re using me...
When I begin to wander away, I beg you, Lord, compel me to stay.

The first song I ever heard by them had me hooked (it's not about what you will think it is about!):

She’s in Love
Lyric by Scott Johnson & John Waller / Music by John Waller

What a beautiful smile, a radiant girl
Fell in love first time I saw her
She stays on my mind
I’d give anything to know everything about her

There’s light in her eyes, and I know it’s all for him
She carries on and on like he was her best friend

She’s in love (repeat)
It’s not hard to see
But I would like to believe it was with me
Someone got a hold of her heart and he won’t let go
And I know she’s in love

She looks to the sky
When she talks about him
She believes he hung the moon
Said he had to go away
She waits for his return
Says he’s coming for her soon

How can this be fair?
This guy can walk on water
Don’t guess I’ve got a prayer
He’s written love letters - to reach her

She worships the ground he walks on
She just smiles when she says his name
It’s a match made in heaven
I can’t compete with the King of Kings

That song is what I long for, honestly...for people to see who truly has my heart...:)

Anyway...I am in a musical mood today, so I thought I'd share what I'm listening to!
